It is a private membership club that also provides a limited level of public access. Granite Links is located just 7 miles south of Boston. 27 challenging holes of links style golf offer the most scenic vistas anywhere, including breathtaking views of Boston’s skyline to the North, the Harbor Islands to the South and East, and the densely forested backdrop of the Blue Hills Reservation to the West. As the name indicates, this is a links style course, situated atop what were once actively mined quarries. Remnants of the quarries will be revealed on the course in the form of granite outcroppings and some rather impressive water hazards – some of which run 40 to 400 feet deep!

  The Country Club-Brookline
Description
The Main Course Brookline 1 is rated as one of the top 100 courses in the U.S. and host to major championship. It is comprised of the Clyde and Squirrel nines, essentially the original 18 holes. This was the course used for the 1913 U.S. Open, and is the course played by members today. The other nine holes are the Primrose Course, an executive course built in 1927. This was designed by William S. Flynn, who also (re)designed Shinnecock Hills and the Cascades Course at The Homestead. The Composite, Anniversary, or Open Course is used for major competitions today, when a longer layout is required. In this configuration, three and a half holes from the Primrose Course are used to replace three holes of the Clyde, resulting in a length of slightly more than 7,000 yards. This layout has been used for most major competitions since the Primrose Course was built.
