The Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates is situated on Sheikh Zayed Road in the Al Barsha district of Dubai. It is a unique hotel that offers a blend of leisure and shopping being attached to UAE’s first indoor ski resort and currently the largest shopping facility in the UAE, the Mall of the Emirates. The hotel has a range of well designed rooms and suites including 20 unique Ski Chalets that directly overlook the ski run. The hotels restaurants include; Twenty Four Seven which is the only restaurant that opens 24 hours a day in the surrounding area, Aspen Café in the hotel lobby and Sezzam which is a concept Flame, Bake and Steam restaurant that directly overlooks the ski run in the mall. For bars there is Evory Lounge Bar, situated within the Sezzam area inside the shopping mall, whilst 1897 and Mosaic Pool Bar are located within the main hotel. Guests staying in Executive rooms and above have the added benefits of use of the Executive Lounge. Facilities within the hotel include a Media Lounge with modern well equipped conference and meeting rooms, a Spa, hairdresser, fitness centre, swimming pool and tennis court.

The Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates is located on Sheikh Zayed Road to the South West of Dubai Creek in the Al Barsha district and is 10 minutes inland from the Jumeirah Beach area of Dubai. With its own direct access from the street the hotel is within the same complex as the Mall of the Emirates, currently the largest shopping mall in the region that features over 450 world known brands, major department stores, cultural theatres and Ski Dubai. This, the world's third largest indoor ski resort and an alpine themed indoor Snow Park is all on the hotels very own back door step. For convention delegates the Dubai International Convention Centre is approximately 10 minutes away by car depending on the traffic.

Layout Description
The Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates has its own private covered driveway leading from Sheikh Zayed Road. On entering the hotel you will find a Majlis area to the right and the Concierge to your left. Ahead is a slightly raised area which is the main Lobby of the hotel, overlooked by the second floor balcony. To the left there are 4 Reception Islands, backed by a full double storey gentle water feature. The guest lifts and lobby seating area are to your right. Located at the far end of the lobby are more seating areas and the Aspen Café. To the right of this is a walkway which leads to the Sezzam dining experience and the Mall of the Emirates and Ski Dubai. The Conference centre, Twenty Four Seven, 1897, tennis court and pool with views over Jumeirah skyline, are found on the 2nd floor level of the hotel.

The impressive triple story Lobby has comfortable modern seating arrangements to the right as you enter the hotel, with a more conservative seating area beyond the 4 Reception Islands that are on your left. The Lobby area features tall pillars that reach up to the second floor of the hotel and large stone slab floors. This contemporary area also features a trickling calming waterfall behind the reception desks. There are ladies’ and gents’ cloakrooms and slightly modified facilities to the right of the reception. Aspen Café opens directly onto the far end of the Lobby. It has raised clear modern seating for meals and a bar that only sells non alcoholic drinks. Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the Lobby. The passage to the hotels concept dining restaurant Sezzam and the Emirates Mall is found to right of the Lobby.

Dessange Hair Dressing Salon is situated on the 3rd floor of the Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates. The hotel has an enviable position within the Mall of the Emirates, which has over 400 retail outlets, cinemas, theatres and a 400 metre long x 50 metre wide indoor ski slope.

Dessange is found on the 3rd floor of the Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates and is open 7 days a week, offering ladies and gentleman’s hairdressing and hair treatments, manicures and pedicures. It has both public and private hair and nail treatment rooms. There are no other shops within the hotel, but guests can enjoy the unprecedented depth and breadth of retail within the Mall of the Emirates on the hotels ‘back door step’, covering all categories from convenience stores and services, to exclusive fashion boutiques and department stores. The complex also includes Ski Dubai and a 22,500m2 alpine themed indoor snow park; Magic Planet, which is a large family entertainment centre; multiplex cinemas and the Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre.

The Executive Lounge facilities are found a very short distance from the lift on the 11th floor. It is open to guest staying in Executive Suites and above from 06:30 to 01:30 daily and serves breakfast, snacks and cocktails. It is 141 square metres and has a capacity for 30 guests. On entering the Executive Lounge guests will find a reception desk with staff to assist guest with their needs, check in and check out facilities. There is a lounge seating area and 2 quiet computer hubs to the right of this. The main lounge area is divided into two, one being less formal with lounge seating arrangements and plasma television, the other area being more appropriate for meals and small informal meetings at the tables with chairs. The Executive Lounge benefits from natural light with full length windows. Guest may use the two additional private meeting rooms where no natural light is available, at no additional charge for up to 2 hours.

There is an interesting selection of guest rooms at the Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates ranging from Deluxe rooms, unique Ski Chalets to Suites with large private terraces. The Deluxe rooms have a small entrance lobby and bedroom area with sofa and low coffee table. The bathrooms are modern and spacious. The Grand Deluxe rooms and above are very well thought out with sliding doors in place to make the maximum use of space, with large bathrooms and separate showers that have built in seats. The 15 Ski chalets are all located on the second floor of the hotel and have large floor to ceiling windows overlooking the ski slope and are designed to reflect a style typical of an alpine location.

Deluxe guest rooms at the Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates are well laid out. There is a small entrance lobby, which has a mini bar and fridge and small kitchenette sink. The 65 king size and 12 twin rooms have wooden floors and rugs, with a seating area to the side of the bed. This area features a curved settee and a low level coffee table, fresh flowers and mood lighting. At the foot of the bed there is an ottoman and a mirrored dressing table with hidden internal mirror. There are double doors leading to the modern spacious bathroom which has large mirrors, a wide bath and Kempinski toiletries.

Leading from this is an enclosed walk through closet that enters the open plan bedroom and living area which are separated in the middle by a low level cabinet with swivel television. Twenty Four Seven Restaurant is a casual all day dining restaurant that serves buffet breakfast in the morning from 3 live cooking stations followed by an A la Carte menu for lunch, dinner and through the night. The cuisine is mainly influenced by delicacies from various Italian cuisines with include pasta, steaks and seafood. Located on the second floor with windows overlooking the pool deck, the deep red upholstery has been combined with the use of sheer fabric and large ornamental modern shapes to create 3 focal points and 3 distinct eating areas. A raised area with bench seating, a bright circular area in the centre of the restaurant and further seating towards the back of the restaurant. Guest may also dine on the terrace area that overlooks the pool.

Located at the far end of the lobby area Aspen Café also serves as a Lobby Bar and Café with seating both inside the café and casual seating in the Lobby area. Continental breakfast is served in the mornings, followed by a café style menu during the day from 11:00 to 02:00. This includes soups, salads and pasta, with a selection of sandwiches or finger food to eat there or take away. No alcohol is served in this area and smoking is not allowed. English and Arabic Teas are served in the afternoon and a pianist plays every evening except Tuesdays, between 16:00 and 20:00.

The unique restaurant Sezzam is located at the bottom of the ski run at the rear of the hotel with direct access to the Mall of the Emirates and Sheikh Zayed Road. Within this concept restaurant there is something for everyone; guests can mix or match their favourite dishes from the 3 live interacting cooking stations with open display feature kitchens, showcasing chefs at their work who offer A la Carte and Sezzam Express menus. The 942 seat capacity restaurant is divided into three interconnecting cooking elements, Flame, Steam and Bake with open kitchen islands that produce;

Flame - Large grill, rotisserie and spit roast specialise in serving steaks, kebabs, tandoori, roasts, grills and build your own burgers.

Steam - features a large “dog bone” shaped open kitchen located along the main mall corridor which maximises its visibility and accessibility. The prominence of the kitchen is meant to highlight its approach to fresh Asian cooking and dining. A traditional steam dim sum trolley also travels throughout the venue.

Bake - oversized baking ovens, specializing in a multitude of international ovenbaked dishes, such as breads, gourmet pizzas, baked pastas, baked potatoes, tagines, stews, clay pots and hot desserts.

There are also 3 further islands for beverages, cakes and pasties and a retail outlet, children’s bouncing castle and play area. Seating areas and ambiance varies depending on the location within the restaurant.

1897 cocktail bar is located on the 2nd floor that offers a wide variety of drinks, including cocktails, champagnes, tea and coffee and a light bites menu that is served until 23:00. This intimate bar with no natural daylight is open from 12:00 to 03:00 daily. 1897 has a long cocktail bar with stools and four alcoves with bench seating and round tables. There is a central seating bar area and low level set seating around the remaining walls. There are no other children’s facilities within the hotel itself, although Sezzam Restaurant belonging to the hotel but located just inside the Mall of the Emirates, is a fun place to eat with many live cooking stations to pick and mix from with brightly coloured drinks and sweet stations. There is also a young child area with bouncing castle. Some of the seating within Sezzam overlooks Ski Dubai. Within the Mall of the Emirates itself there are a number of child orientated outlets including Ski Dubai, an indoor ski slope and separate indoor Snow Park, that are both maintained at -2ºc. Mosaic Pool is located on the 2nd floor of the hotel with views over the surrounding area and the Jumeirah skyline. It is an infinity pool in an ‘L’ shape with the one pool cascading into the other. There is a swim up ‘wet bar’ that serves cocktails and mocktails and light snacks during the day. At night it transforms into an additional cocktail area were shisha is served. The wooden pool deck surrounding the pool has sun lounges and umbrellas, more substantial meals can be taken on the terrace of Twenty Four Seven that overlooks the pool. There are changing facilities within the hotel that are located at the gym which overlooks the pool. It is a good sized, mirrored room with sprung wood floors and a divider in the middle of the room that helps to split the range of equipment into relevant areas. This was the first grass course in the Gulf region when it opened in 1988. The club features two championship courses; the Majlis and the Wadi. Description
Covering more than 265 acres of landscaped turf, gardens and lakes, this spectacular golf course provides the player with undulating "links land" style fairways which challenge and intrigue all levels of player. Placement of the drive to the generous fairways remains the cornerstone of any good round. The flat landing area of each fairway can be challenging to find, but a rewarding adventure. With 14 lakes and 81 bunkers, The Montgomerie Dubai, the first and only example of the association between golfing great Colin Montgomerie and Desmond Muirhead, adds a distinctive variety to the golfing landscape of the region.

One of the signature holes is the par 5 fourth, dubbed the Snake hole for its saddleback fairway which doglegs towards the green, with 2 bunkers behind forming the eyes of the snake. Further on, the par 5 ninth, with water down the left, is a tough finish to the opening half. The par 3 thirteenth, a hole designed in the shape of the UAE, boasts a 360 degree teeing area around an island fairway and green, allowing for a completely different golf hole to be played every time. However, it is the par 5 eighteenth that offers a more classic test. At 656 yards it is a monster and, with water protecting the front of the green, it defies even the best player to hit the green in two.

The Softouch Spa is located on the 1st floor of the hotel and is 2,400 square metres in size. As you enter the spa, the relaxation room is to your left with the reception desk ahead of you. There are stairs and a ramp that lead to the six treatment rooms, two of which are for couples. Four have private rain showers with stone seats. The relaxing environment has double storey grey stone walls, with uplighters along the corridors and soft soothing background music. The spa has its own direct stair access to the gym, pool and changing rooms that are located on the 2nd floor.
Special Needs
Rooms & Bathrooms Accessible rooms feature connecting doors to an adjacent guest room. These slightly modified Grand Deluxe rooms are located close to the elevators and fire exits. The entrance doors to the accessible guest rooms are 94 cm wide. Both the safe and the hanging rail for clothes have been lowered. The central television area of the rooms have been removed and replaced with a smaller television swivel cabinet that creates more moving space. The spacious bathrooms have double doors for entry and there is a large wheel-in wet room with shower that has a built in stone seat, rain shower, separate hand held shower and lavatory with basin that is leaver operated taps with clearance below, there is one grab rail and bathroom telephone within the wet room. The bath in the main area of the bathroom is wide, and deep with one grab rail close to the taps, it has a lip around the edge of the bath of approximately 5 cm.
Restaurants & Catering All the restaurants within the hotel have more than one level, but most areas have permanent access ramps. Aspen Café in the lobby area and Twenty Four Seven have both accessible and raised areas with steps. Part of the Sezzam Flame area is also raised. 1897 is wheelchair accessible, although in some areas space is limited. Both the Mosaic bar area and the Evory Lounge have approximately five steps. Restaurant menus indicate if they are nut free and guests with other dietary needs should inform the chef when ordering.
Visual & Hearing Aids The hotel has very limited facilities for the hard of hearing or the visually impaired. The lifts have Braille and the room numbers are very slightly indented. There are no larger print menus available in the restaurants or induction loop systems in place. Assistance dogs are not welcome.
Communal Areas There are ramps giving access to most communal spaces such as the lobby, the restaurants and public restrooms. There is one adapted toilet in the lobby area next to the reception and a slightly smaller one in the second floor conference area. Most of the ramps in the hotel have a gentle slope, the exception being one of many in Sezzam that is located close to the Steam area of the restaurant.
Recreation Facilities Descent into the swimming pool is down seven shallow steps and the pool itself is 1.20 metres deep. There is wooden decking around the pool and bar area which some guests may find difficult to negotiate. To access the pool area from the hotel, there is one step at each doorway. The Spa located on the 1st floor has a ramp, but not all treatment rooms will be accessible to some guests.
Staff Assistance Staff are on hand to give some assistance if required. The hotel has its own wheelchair and a nurse is available at the hotel from 10:00 to 19:00.

Access to most public areas is generally good, with permanent ramps in place where necessary. Some of the restaurants and bar areas are on two levels. There is one good sized handicapped lavatory on the lobby level and a smaller one within the conference area. The slightly modified guest rooms have spacious bathrooms, but generally there are limited grab rails. No special equipment or assistance is in place for the hard of hearing or the partially sighted, other than Braille in the lifts and slightly indented room numbers. Assistance dogs are not welcome.
