Evening entertainment at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers covers a broad spectrum in three prime locations. The Lobby Lounge has a pianist each evening playing background music, whilst Scarlett’s which has an adjoining Tex Mex restaurant offers day and evening live sporting events on large plasma screens, a live DJ in the evenings and a band on Wednesdays. Harry Ghatto’s is a lively traditional Japanese 'Karaoke' bar which is popular for fun late night get-togethers.

Set within the Marina, this beach is more intimate than the main beach. It is a short walk from the main pool and Sinbad’s children’s club. The beach has a curved shape with palm trees and has impressive views of the Burj Al Arab. As the beach is part of the Marina, the water is very calm and has a gentle incline into the sea, making it an ideal location for younger children. A drinks and food service is provided by the La Veranda restaurant.

The H²O Men’s Spa is a unique concept in Dubai. It was opened in March 2006 and has a range of facilities and treatments specifically tailored to the male clientele. This relaxing spa’s signature experiences include the Floatation Pool and Oxygen Lounge. The Floatation Pool provides for complete relaxation in 300kg of salt water which allows your body to float in water. The Oxygen Lounge allows the guest to relax and recharge. Your body is massaged by high-tech Italian Shiatsu chairs whilst you hook up to the oxygen bars. At the same time, you can watch movies in 3D glasses or read the latest magazines while listening to your own selected music. For ladies a range of massages are available at the Health Club on the lobby level of the hotel and each guest room has a 'Bath Menu' with six Elemis treatments including Pure Retreat and Skin Nourishing Milk Baths which are prepared in the privacy of your own guest bathroom.
Special Needs
Rooms & Bathrooms There is one Deluxe specially adapted double room on the 10th floor at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers. The large bedroom area has had no special adaptations made but there is a good size entry door and space for good manoeuvrability. The closet rail can be adjusted to a low level and the safe has been positioned at waist level. The bathroom has seven grab rails in total including one around the bath, a bath seat within the bath and both the bidet and shower door have been removed making more space and allowing for two shower seats, one in the shower and the other replacing the bidet. There is a telephone within the bathroom.
Restaurants & Catering Most of the restaurants and bars within the Jumeirah Emirates Tower hotel with the exception of the Club Executive Lounge have one or two steps either at the entry, or within the outlet when seating is on two levels. Generally there is a mix of both free standing tables and chairs and fixed bench seating. Staff are on hand to give assistance if necessary and temporary ramps are available. All menus including room service mention which dishes include alcohol or pork, any other special requirements for diabetics etc will be accommodated if discussed at time of ordering.
Visual & Hearing Aids There are no special visual or hearing aids available to guests within the hotel or meeting rooms. Menus may be enlarged although the size of print in general is good and guest room numbers are slightly raised. Assistance Dogs are not welcome at the time of writing.
Communal Areas A large proportion of the hotel is accessible for guests who are in wheelchairs. There are two specially adapted cloakrooms, one in the hotel towers building and the other in the office towers, both have two handrails. Where there are steps within F&B outlets, staff assistance is given. The pre-function area of the Godolphin Ballroom has four steps and a narrow permanent wheel ramp over this which may not fit all sized wheelchairs. The entrance to the Boulevard shopping mall from the lobby area, has a wide ramp as well as a lift and escalators inside the building.
Recreation Facilities The entrance to the Health Club and pool area which is located off the lobby has three steps to access these areas, a temporary ramp is available to overcome any problems that the physically challenged may have. Although there are steps as well as a ladder directly into the pool there is a flight of twelve steps to access the lower pool deck where the pools and Jacuzzi are positioned. The Big Apple gym is located on the lower level of the Boulevard and has one shallow step with temporary ramp access at entry. H2O men’s spa is situated within the main hotel tower and is accessible by lift, some guest may find it challenging to enter and exit the Floatation Pool.
Staff Assistance Although not specially trained in all aspects of care, staff are on hand to provide assistance to physically challenged guests if required. There are 24 hour paramedics on duty within the hotel.
Cranley Comment
Most areas of the hotel and connecting Boulevard shopping mall are accessible to wheelchair users, however the lower level of the pool deck may be challenging for some. Most restaurants are on two levels so some seating may be restricted without the use of a temporary ramp. The specially adapted Deluxe bedroom on the 10th floor is close to the lifts and has a large range of helpful equipment in the bathroom, the large bedroom has not been modified at all. There are paramedics on duty 24 hours and although hotel staff are not specially trained in all aspects of special care they are on hand to give assistance if required and where possible. No special facilities are in place for the visually impaired and there are no induction loop systems in place for the hard of hearing, assistance dogs at this time are not welcome.
Environment
Measures
Recycling
Energy Saving
Community Service
Cranley Comment
Jumeirah Emirates Towers has a few environmental policies in place. Water, glass and plastics are separated for the Municipality to remove and staff are encouraged to save paper. All public areas in the hotel and office tower have energy saving light bulbs and there are dimmer switches in the Royal Suite and three Presidential Suites. Laundry bags and shoe bags are environmentally friendly, washable and reusable. When guest rooms are not in use a master switch is in operation to completely cut off all electricity to the room so that appliances that are plugged in, televisions, standard lights etc will not make any draw on electricity until the room is booked out again. Staff are encouraged to donate blood.
