Coral Boutique Hotel Apartments, which opened in 2005, are located close to Sheik Zayed Road in the Al Barsha district, between downtown Dubai and the fast developing Dubai Marina. They are within five minutes walk of The Mall of the Emirates and Ski Dubai. The luxurious One, Two and Three Bedroom Apartments are spacious and furnished to a high standard, with designer fittings, state of the art kitchens and luxury bathrooms. The apartments are fully equipped for self catering but other dining options include Rumours Café and the Butterfly Café. These serve a range of snacks and full meals, as well as hot and cold drinks, but guests should note that Coral Boutique Hotel Apartments has a no alcohol policy. For business guests, all apartments offer free high speed internet access and chargeable wireless is available in the public areas. There are three meeting rooms and secretarial services are available on request. For leisure, there is the Murjan Coral Signature Spa and Health Club and a rooftop swimming pool. There is guest car parking on-site.

Layout Description
The entrance to the Coral Boutique Hotel Apartments is reached by several steps up from the road. It has a small lobby area, with the Reception and Concierge desk immediately on the right and the Guest Services desk on the left. Between the two is a seating area with a screen behind. The two guest lifts are behind the screen and behind the lifts is the atrium which contains the Butterfly Café and the two meeting rooms leading from this. There is also an exit to the hotel's car park. Rumours Café is on the ground floor with its entrance next to the guest services desk. The hotel's leisure facilities are on the 7th floor and there is a rooftop swimming pool.

The hotel has a small drive off the main road, with the hotel entrance reached by several steps up from the road. There is a glass revolving door and glass doors on either side. The small lobby area has the combined Reception and Concierge desk on the right, with the Guest Services desk opposite. In between, there are three sofas around a coffee table and a screen which hides the lifts. Behind the lifts is the central atrium which rises to the glass roof. The lifts have glass doors at the back, allowing guests a good view of the Butterfly Café which occupies the ground floor of the atrium. Rumours Café is accessed from the lobby, just behind the Guest Services desk and the entrance to both the boardroom and the Casa de Cuba meeting rooms are from the atrium on the ground floor.

The apartments are built around an open atrium area which extends the full height of the building and has a glass roof creating an airy atmosphere. All floors look down the centre of the atrium to the Butterfly Café below, which can also be viewed from the lifts which have glass on one side. The spacious One, Two and Three Bedroom Apartments are located throughout the hotel on all floors and have designer fittings and state of the art kitchens, with good sized living areas, stylish accessories and luxury ensuite bathrooms.

Beyond is the fully fitted kitchen area, which leads to the spacious open plan lounge diner. The apartments have minimalist modern designs and are decorated in pastels with creams and gold fabrics, walnut furniture and cream marble floors throughout. There are floor to ceiling windows in the lounge and bedroom. The lounge diner has a large flat screen TV on the wall, a DVD player and a sofa and two easy chairs set around a circular wooden coffee table. There is a wooden dining table with seating for four people. The well equipped kitchen has a black marble worktop, dual stainless steel sink and all of the utensils that one would expect for cooking and dining. The bedroom has a king size bed, TV and desk/mirrored vanity unit and is decorated with contemporary style rugs and a gold framed hand painted Arabic sketch. The modern marble bathroom has a bath tub and walk-in rain shower, as well as twin washbasins, a fixed hairdryer and magnifying mirror.

The apartments have floor to ceiling windows and a balcony furnished with a table and 4 chairs. The separate lounge/dining area is open plan and has a wall mounted flat screen TV, DVD player, fully fitted kitchen with black marble worktops, dual stainless steel sink and breakfast bar. The dining room has seating for 8 and there is also a guest cloakroom. Rumours Café has marble floors and is decorated in bright colourful designs with a central art deco stainless steel and wood feature palm tree. Guests can choose from an A la carte menu of soups, salads, sandwiches, snacks and themed five course set meals (Asian, Oriental, Mediterranean, Tex/Mex.) There are also desserts and a range of coffees, teas and other non alcoholic beverages. Breakfast consists of a choice of Continental, Cooked or the Power Breakfast which is the healthy option. Guests can also dine outside on the small terrace area, though this is now popular with smokers.

The Butterfly Café is situated in the central atrium lobby and features stainless steel pillars, waterfalls, tropical plants and a stone featured fresco extending from the floor to the pinnacle glass roof. There are modern gas style lights and slate stone floors with tables for 4 or corner seating sofas with coffee tables. The café serves snacks, salads, toasted sandwiches, desserts, soft drinks and other non alcoholic beverages, as well as a traditional English afternoon tea between 15:00 and 18:00, where guests can enjoy scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam.

Coral Boutique Hotel Apartments has three meeting rooms that can be used for business purposes; Business Center 1 and 2 and the Boardroom. Business Center 1 and 2 can be used either as separate rooms or one larger room. They are a different size and they have two steps between their floor levels but they are adjoining rooms. The Boardroom has a fixed set-up and can accommodate up to 12 people for a meeting. All rooms are located on the ground floor, adjoining the Butterfly Café area of the lobby and have internet connectivity. AV equipment such as projectors, LCD screens and sound systems are available on request. Full catering is also available.

Although the Coral Boutique Hotel Apartments does not have a dedicated Business Centre, business facilities are available through the guest relations desk located in the lobby. There is free high speed internet connection in all apartments, for which guests need to obtain a cable from Reception, as well as chargeable wireless internet in designated public areas on the ground floor. The Coral Boutique has three meeting rooms located on the ground floor, with AV equipment available on request. Business Center 1 and 2 have one entrance with a partition between them and there are steps between the levels. They can be used for a variety of functions. The boardroom is set up for formal meetings only.

The Coral Boutique Hotel Apartments are fully equipped for self catering and as such are well placed to accommodate families. There is a swimming pool, but there are none of the facilities that one would otherwise associate as being essential for families. The hotel is however well placed for the Mall of the Emirates and its wealth of activities for families, including Ski Dubai.

The Jumeirah Beach Park is a public beach with a small charge for entry. The beach park has a large beach with lifeguards, sun lounger and parasol hire, toilet facilities and a snack bar for cold drinks and fast food refreshments. There is a grassed area and an area planted with trees, where barbeques are available for public use. There are football goals and beach volleyball facilities on the beach in addition to an adventure type playground to keep younger children entertained.

The rooftop swimming pool has an attractive oblong shape with a curved end, dark mosaic tiles and a Jacuzzi. The rooftop terrace has sandstone walls to all sides and slate paved floors with planted tropical plants, palm trees and 2 awnings for shade. There are 2 outdoor showers, whilst the ladies and men's separate changing rooms have saunas, steam rooms and showers. Refreshments are available by using the poolside phone to call room service.

Located on the 7th floor within the Murjan Coral Signature Spa area, the hotel's 'Gym and Tonic' is a compact gym which has a small range of equipment and offers guests views over the Murjan Signature Spa terrace and rooftops beyond. The gym has a wooden floor and one mirrored wall to create the impression of more space. There are ladies' and men’s changing rooms with their own saunas and steam rooms. The gym is nicely air conditioned, which is essential in the Dubai heat, especially in the summer months.

Opened in 1993 and extensively re-modelled in 2005, the course is set next to Dubai Creek, close to the city centre and Dubai International Airport. The championship course was re-designed by Thomas Bjorn and is set in undulating fairways lined with palms, attractive water hazards and shrubbery that give it a tropical and secluded feel despite being close to the city centre. The complex also features a nine hole floodlit par-three course. The course was voted in November 2005 as one of the top 100 world courses to play and hosted the Dubai Desert Classic in 1999 and 2000.

Description
Covering more than 265 acres of landscaped turf, gardens and lakes, this spectacular golf course provides the player with undulating "links land" style fairways which challenge and intrigue all levels of player. Placement of the drive to the generous fairways remains the cornerstone of any good round. The flat landing area of each fairway can be challenging to find, but a rewarding adventure. With 14 lakes and 81 bunkers, The Montgomerie Dubai, the first and only example of the association between golfing great Colin Montgomerie and Desmond Muirhead, adds a distinctive variety to the golfing landscape of the region.

One of the signature holes is the par 5 fourth, dubbed the Snake hole for its saddleback fairway which doglegs towards the green, with 2 bunkers behind forming the eyes of the snake. Further on, the par 5 ninth, with water down the left, is a tough finish to the opening half. The par 3 thirteenth, a hole designed in the shape of the UAE, boasts a 360 degree teeing area around an island fairway and green, allowing for a completely different golf hole to be played every time. However, it is the par 5 eighteenth that offers a more classic test. At 656 yards it is a monster and, with water protecting the front of the green, it defies even the best player to hit the green in two.

The Murjan Coral Signature Spa is a state of the art spa with graceful sculptures, soothing music and running water. There is a reception counter with a waiting area decorated in Oriental style where guests can relax. Separate doors lead from either side of the reception counter for male and female entry to ladies' and men's treatment rooms, saunas and steam rooms and a separate pool entrance. The spa has a team of experienced consultants, qualified to adapt treatments to suit the individual guest’s needs with a range of weight loss and fitness programmes and relaxing and invigorating treatments sourced from around the world.
Special Needs
Rooms & Bathrooms There are currently no apartments that have been adapted for special needs guests, but the Coral Boutique Hotel Apartments is planning to have an adapted room by 2009. At present, the only area of difficulty is likely to be the bathroom, all of the apartments otherwise have a generous amount of space throughout.
Restaurants & Catering Rumours Café and the Butterfly Café are both wheelchair accessible. There are no special provisions with menus for visually impaired guests. Those guests with special dietary requirements may also have some difficulties.
Visual & Hearing Aids None.
Communal Areas Mobility impaired guests arriving by car, can access the hotel via a ramp from the car park at the rear of the hotel. The lobby area, including both cafés is then fully accessible, as are all floors via the lifts. Two of the three meeting rooms have steps leading down into them and the rooftop pool can only be reached by steps from the 7th floor. Each of these would therefore be difficult for guests with mobility problems. There are currently no disabled toilets within the hotel apartments.

The Coral Boutique Hotel Apartments are equipped to deal with mobility impaired guests in most, but not all areas of the property. A back entrance from the car park allows for wheelchair access and all areas of the hotel apartments are readily accessible, except the two Casa da Cuba meeting rooms and the rooftop pool. The hotel does not currently have any special provisions for hearing or visually impaired guests.

Coral International Hotels, Resorts & Spas are committed to respecting the environment and to avoid the wastage of precious resources. There are notices in bathrooms encouraging guests to assist by using their towels more than once and thus saving water, cleaning materials and energy. Staff are also encouraged to be aware of where energy savings can be made, especially in unoccupied apartments.
