The hotel has several different room types and suites, all of which are of a very high standard. All rooms provide three distinctive areas for working, relaxing and sleeping and all have unique designer bathrooms which are almost the width of the whole room. From Deluxe rooms to Junior Suites, the only difference between the rooms is the size and their location in the hotel, with the higher grade rooms being on the upper floors. There are also Executive Suites, two Presidential Suites and the unique 'floating' Sky Suite. The Monarch Suite occupies the top two floors of the hotel and is a quite spectacular and palatial suite. All rooms in the hotel have a keycard entry system.

At 1,130m˛, the Monarch Suite is extraordinary and occupies the whole of the 32nd and 33rd floors. As it is the only suite on those floors, even the lift attendant has to use a special key to enable the lift to go there. The lift doors open into a reception area, with double wooden doors to the left and right. The description which follows, describes the suite around in a clockwise direction. So, to the left from the lifts is the first of the lounges, which is a large two storey high room with big picture windows and gold curtains that cover the full drop. It has an enormous chandelier hanging above a grey, white and brown carpet, on which are two very large semi-circular sofas in gold, with complementing cushions. There is a large flat screen TV on one wall and a Bang and Olufsen sound system with stylish slim speakers. Off the lounge is a majlis, which has a writing desk, 4 armchairs and a 3 seater sofa. There is a cushioned wall covering on one side in a gold patterned fabric. There are also two large paintings and an ornate mirror on the walls. From the lounge, there is a corridor to the right which leads through traditional Arabic archways to another lounge, a second majlis and a secondary dining area, passing two separate guest bathrooms on the left. On the right and running through the middle of the Monarch Suite, is the discreet nerve centre of the suite – the 'Butler Pantry'. This dining area has a rich golden brown wooden floor, with a dining table for 8 people on a burgundy and pink patterned rug. Beyond is a lounge area with 2 four seater sofas and two armchairs, all in cream, set around two low level coffee tables, facing a flat screen TV. On the right hand side of this room is a long seating area for 10 to 12 people, which is effectively a padded bench covered with a very distinctive red, brown and lilac tartan patterned fabric. At the end of this very large room is an outdoor wooden terraced area, leading round to the private pool, which offers a superb view of the Dubai skyline. The outdoor pool terrace has several sunbeds and two large outdoor sofas. The pool area leads to the other side of the Monarch Suite and the adjoining area is a conservatory, which very cleverly, has part of the pool running into it to provide a paddling area. This room has two large cushioned wicker chairs and sofas, as well as a flat screen TV at one end. The room also leads into a changing area, which has a shower, toilet, steam room and a sauna. From the conservatory, the corridor continues along to a wood panelled library on the left, with dark wooden floor and leather sofas and chairs. Next door is the suite's private cinema, with tiered seating for 12 guests. The furthest end of the Monarch Suite brings guests to the impressive main dining room with its solid wooden table and sumptuous chairs. Gold rimmed bone china, silver cutlery and hand made crystal glassware reinforce the impression of luxury and elegance throughout. Another small lounge area adjoins the dining room, before one arrives back at the entrance that was to the right of the lifts. One can access the 1st floor bedrooms either by using the suite's own private lift or by climbing the 23 steps that comprise the curved wooden staircase. The master bedroom is most impressive for its minimalist design. It has a wooden floor throughout and a semi circular sofa on a cream and brown patterned rug. The exquisite king size bed is covered with 1500 thread count Egyptian bed linen and faces the flat screen TV and a curved chaise longue. The ensuite bathroom is behind the bed, with steps leading up to it from either side. The spacious marble tiled bathroom features a stand alone bath, walk-in rain shower, steam room, two separate sink units, two separate dressing tables, a WC and bidet behind opaque glass and a walk-in dressing room. The second bedroom has a king size bed and chaise longue, whilst the ensuite bathroom contains a walk-in shower, WC, bidet and washbasin. Bedroom number three is twin bedded and also contains a writing desk and chair. The ensuite bathroom has a stand alone bath, with two separate washbasins, WC and bidet. The large shower room has two rain showers, as well as hand held showers. The Monarch Suite has 24 hour butler service.

Golf
Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club
Description
Opened in 1993 and extensively re-modelled in 2005, the course is set next to Dubai Creek, close to the city centre and Dubai International Airport. The championship course was re-designed by Thomas Bjorn and is set in undulating fairways lined with palms, attractive water hazards and shrubbery that give it a tropical and secluded feel despite being close to the city centre. The complex also features a nine hole floodlit par-three course. The course was voted in November 2005 as one of the top 100 world courses to play and hosted the Dubai Desert Classic in 1999 and 2000.
Location 9 km
Holes Two Courses: 18 Hole and 9 Hole
Length/Par 18 Hole Course: 6,839 Yards Par 71 sss 72

  Emirates Golf Club
Description
This was the first grass course in the Gulf region when it opened in 1988. The club features two championship courses; the Majlis and the Wadi. The Majlis was the original course and was designed by Florida based designer Karl Litten. The Wadi opened in 1996 and was re-designed in 2007 by Nick Faldo. Despite a number of new courses, it still ranks as one of the best in Dubai. It has hosted the Dubai Desert Classic fifteen times for the last six years in succession.
Location 26 km

Length/Par Majlis: 7,185 Yards par 72 sss 74 , Wadi: 7,263 Yards par 72 sss 74

  Montgomerie Dubai
Description
Covering more than 265 acres of landscaped turf, gardens and lakes, this spectacular golf course provides the player with undulating "links land" style fairways which challenge and intrigue all levels of player. Placement of the drive to the generous fairways remains the cornerstone of any good round. The flat landing area of each fairway can be challenging to find, but a rewarding adventure. With 14 lakes and 81 bunkers, The Montgomerie Dubai, the first and only example of the association between golfing great Colin Montgomerie and Desmond Muirhead, adds a distinctive variety to the golfing landscape of the region.

One of the signature holes is the par 5 fourth, dubbed the Snake hole for its saddleback fairway which doglegs towards the green, with 2 bunkers behind forming the eyes of the snake. Further on, the par 5 ninth, with water down the left, is a tough finish to the opening half. The par 3 thirteenth, a hole designed in the shape of the UAE, boasts a 360 degree teeing area around an island fairway and green, allowing for a completely different golf hole to be played every time. However, it is the par 5 eighteenth that offers a more classic test. At 656 yards it is a monster and, with water protecting the front of the green, it defies even the best player to hit the green in two.

Special Needs
Communal Areas
The hotel entrance is on one level and with ramps wherever necessary, almost the whole hotel is accessible to mobility impaired guests via the lifts. At lobby level, the bar and two restaurants are accessible, whilst most of the Arcadia lobby lounge can be reached using the ramp. There are one or two raised levels within the lounge that only have steps rather than ramps up to them.
Rooms & Bathrooms
The adapted bedrooms have larger door frames allowing wheelchair access and they have sliding doors to the bathrooms. The wardrobes have adjustable height bars and the safe is at a lower level. The bed base is lower and there are grab rails around the facilities in the bathroom.
Restaurants & Catering
All of the restaurants, bars and lounges are readily accessible to mobility impaired guests, although parts of the Arcadia lobby lounge have raised areas with steps and the Japanese restaurant will be on two levels. Guests with special dietary needs can be catered for.
Recreation Facilities
The 4th floor health club and swimming pool area is reached via the lifts and mobility impaired guests will be able to negotiate their way around all of the facilities. The swimming pool area has a step up to the Quantum Pool Lounge and the pool terraces are at different levels with steps, but there is a good amount of terracing at pool level. All of the meeting rooms and the ballroom are accessible via the lifts.
Staff Assistance
All associates at the Monarch Dubai are trained to provide assistance to all guests, whatever their requirements.
Cranley Comment
The Monarch Dubai is a very new hotel and has been designed to meet the needs of all guests, including those who are mobility impaired. There is good space in all areas of the hotel and guests who may be in a wheelchair will find that they have access to almost all of the public areas without any difficulty. There are a few adapted bedrooms, which have wider access and facilities at a lower height. The hotel will also attempt to meet the specific needs of all individual guests at any time of the day or night.
Environment
Measures
Recycling
Energy Saving
Water Saving
Cranley Comment
As a new hotel, The Monarch Dubai takes environmental issues very seriously and has a 'Green Committee', with representatives from every department of the hotel. There are regular 'green health checks' on the use of water and power as well as on the materials that are being recycled. There are energy saving light bulbs throughout the hotel, with lights in the guest corridors being activated by sensors that detect movement.
