Cranley Summary
The Seaview is a modern city centre hotel located in Bur Dubai and is suited both to the leisure and business traveller. The Bur Juman shopping centre and several electronics and computer shops are located nearby, while Deira city centre is a couple of kilometres away with its numerous shops, boutiques and restaurants. For business travellers, the World Trade & Convention Centre is nearby while the hotel's location offers good access to roads leading to the Internet and Media cities and Jebel Ali. The hotel has three different room types as well as two dedicated executive floors. There are five restaurants covering two different types of Indian cuisine, as well as Chinese cuisine, a shisha restaurant and a coffee shop. There are also two nightclubs. For leisure there is a rooftop pool and a gym with sauna and steam room facilities and the hotel offers guests a complimentary shuttle bus to Jumeirah public beach.

Location Description
The Seaview is located in Bur Dubai near the Customs building. Its location gives it close access through the Creek tunnel to Deira, while the Bur Juman Shopping Centre and the World Trade & Convention Centre are both nearby. Jumeirah Beach is easily reached via the beach road and the hotel's location offers good access to Sheikh Zayed Road and the developments there. Seaview is also only a fifteen minute drive in normal traffic from Dubai International Airport.

Layout Description
The Seaview is a typical city centre hotel, with all its facilities located in the hotel building, as there are no grounds. Guests enter the hotel through the lobby, which is set within an atrium with glass lifts rising to the top floor. The Harbour Café, Lounge Bar and Malgudi restaurant are located off the lobby, while the Marines nightclub is at the rear of the hotel. The After Eight Club is located on the mezzanine level, with the rooms situated on the next six floors. The Kohinoor and Chinese Village II restaurants are to be found on the seventh floor, together with the Al Multaque Conference Room. The gym and leisure facilities are located on the top floor, with the pool on the roof, alongside the Shisha restaurant.

The lobby is situated within the central atrium of the Seaview, which rises to the top of the hotel and gives the whole area a spacious feel. There are three lifts, two of which are glass sided and allow guests a view of the lobby area and the atrium. In the centre of the lobby is a water feature, alongside which there is some seating for guests, and there is an open plan staircase leading to the mezzanine level. The reception desk is located at the back of the lobby towards the right side, whilst the Malgudi Restaurant, Harbour Café, Marines Nightclub and Lounge Bar are all located off the lobby.

The hotel does not have any shops or boutiques but is a short drive away from the Bur Juman shopping centre, whilst Deira is a ten minute drive away with its numerous boutiques, shopping malls and restaurants.

The Seaview has three room types, which are Deluxe Rooms, Executive Rooms and Suites. Deluxe and Executive Rooms are similar, with Executive Rooms being slightly larger and located on quieter executive floors. Suites consist of two rooms and are 54 square metres in size. Rooms and suites have views over the Gulf/Port or the Bur Dubai skyline, although some rooms on lower floors to the side of the building may have restricted views. All rooms and suites are approached by open corridors overlooking the atrium and lobby. Half of the total number of rooms are furnished with king size beds and half have twin beds.

Suites consist of a bedroom, a separate lounge and two full bathrooms. They are decorated in a modern style with dark wood parquet flooring and modern sofas and armchairs. The lounge is furnished with a sofa, two armchairs, a coffee table and a satellite television. The bedroom has a similar modern design to the lounge and is furnished with an armchair and coffee table and an additional satellite television. Suites benefit from having two full bathrooms, one of which has a Jacuzzi bath and shower.

The Seaview offers guests a choice of dining options. The Harbour Café is a small open plan coffee shop, located off the main lobby and serves an a la carte menu, a lunchtime buffet and is also the breakfast location. Also on the ground floor is the Malgudi Restaurant, which opened in June 2006 and serves south Indian cuisine. In addition there are the Kohinoor (north Indian) and Chinese Village II restaurants located on the 7th floor, with the Chinese restaurant having views over Dubai port. The rooftop now features a Shisha restaurant, that opens all night and serves multi cuisine as well as different flavours of hubbly bubbly.

The Harbour Café was refurbished in 2004 and has a modern design themed as a harbour side café. The open plan café leads directly off the lobby area and has wood flooring with blue tables. At the back of the restaurant is a buffet area which is available at breakfast and lunchtime. The restaurant is open 24 hours offering an a la carte menu. The Harbour Café is quite small as a breakfast venue, given the size of the hotel, but any overspill can be accommodated in the adjoining lounge bar

Located on the seventh floor, Kohinoor is a north Indian restaurant, decorated in the style of a grand Indian house. The dining area is L shaped with a stage at the front, where there is live dancing and singing every night from 21:00. Guests have the choice of being seated in front of the stage, or further back for those who prefer to view the show from a distance. The menu offers a range of dishes that are typical of northern India.

The Chinese Village II restaurant is located on the 7th floor, with views along one side of the restaurant over Dubai Port. The restaurant is decorated and themed in the style of a Chinese Village. The menu consists of a classic range of Chinese dishes and offers a number of banquet options. There is no live entertainment, but background music is played to add to the ambience.

Malgudi is an Indian restaurant, located at the front of the hotel facing the main road, with an entrance from there, as well as from inside the hotel. Malgudi opened in June 2006 and specialises in south Indian cuisine from the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The southern states are known for their herbs and spices and the food here is notable for its blend of flavours that are both subtle and direct. It offers a range of typical dishes, with many that are suitable for vegetarians.
