Nuran Al Alka consists of two very modern towers in a new development in the Greens area of Dubai close to Internet and Media Cities and Jebel Ali. There is a third residential tower as part of the same development, with the three blocks enclosing an area that contains well stocked gardens, a good sized swimming pool, a gym and a children's playground, as well as a basketball net. The two Nuran Al Alka towers are seven storey buildings, comprising 228 apartments between them. The residences are made up of Studio Executive, One and Two Bedroom Executive and Premier apartments and their location in The Greens puts them within easy reach of the commercial centre of Jebel Ali and Internet and Media cities. They are also well located for the shopping malls and golf courses. Nuran Al Alka has a small community hall and a coffee shop on-site, with local shops and restaurants just a few minutes walk away.

Location Description

Nuran Al Alka is situated close to Internet and Media cites and Jebel Ali in The Greens area of Dubai, which is one of the newest residential developments in Dubai. All of the streets in The Greens are numbered and Nuran Al Alka is situated in Street No. 5, on the edge of the development, very close to Jebel Ali racecourse. There are several shops, restaurants and coffee bars within a few minutes walk and the commercial centre of Jebel Ali and Media and Internet cities are just a few minutes drive away. The Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Marina and several golf courses are also easily accessible from The Greens.

Layout Description

The Nuran Al Alka consists of two towers, each of which has their own entrances and Guest Services desks. The two towers and their entrances are mirror images, so that guests will find themselves in identical lobby areas, with the reception desks to the left or right, dependent upon the block. From each lobby area, guests have access to the grounds of the complex, where the swimming pool, gym, children's play area and the basketball net are all located. The guest apartments in each tower are served by two lifts in each, which can only be activated by the guests' key cards. The only difference between the two towers is that one has a Costa Coffee shop on the ground floor.

There are two blocks that comprise the Nuran Al Alka, each of which has their own Guest Services reception desk. In the first of these, guests enter the building up nine steps from street level, through two sets of double glass doors. There is also a ramp for disabled guests. The two lifts to the guest's apartments are to the left and the main lobby area is to the right hand side, with the Guest Services desk on the right. The lobby area has two sofas and a coffee table opposite the Guest Services desk, with a number of potted plants around and a flat screen TV on the wall. Immediately past the seated area are double glass doors that lead into the central courtyard and swimming pool area. The second building is almost a mirror image of the first, except that the Costa Coffee shop is on the right hand side on entering the building, opposite the guest lifts.

The Nuran Al Alka does not have any shops on site, but Guest Services will obtain groceries on guests' behalf when required. The Greens is quite a large development, but the nearest shops and restaurants are less than ten minutes walk away. The shops include a good sized supermarket and a beauty salon and there are a few restaurants and coffee shops in the same area.

Nuran Al Alka consists of two very modern blocks of serviced apartments that opened in September 2006. The quality of furnishings and décor in the apartments is high, with all of them fitted out to the same standard. All Apartments are equipped with state of the art television, DVD and CD players, as well as having fully equipped kitchens containing everything that one would expect. The apartments are identically furnished and decorated in the gold, brown and white corporate colours of Nuran Al Alka parent company, Emaar Hospitality Group. There are four types of apartment, with Studio Executive, One Bedroom Executive and Two Bedroom Executive and Premier Apartments and they are all located throughout the two blocks. All of the apartments are built around the central garden and pool area and have the benefit of either that view or a road view, if they are situated at the front of the complex.

There are 36 Studio Executive Apartments located throughout the Residences, which are very modern. The design of the apartments varies according to their exact location, but all of them feature the same facilities and furnishings. The lounge area is equipped with a two seater sofa and coffee table, LCD TV, DVD and CD player and all of the very modern furniture is in black wood. The bedroom area adjoins the lounge and is furnished with a king-size bed. All of the bed linen and soft furnishings reflect the corporate colours of Nuran Al Alka parent company, The Emaar Group, with shades of gold, brown and white being used throughout. Adjacent to the bed is a writing desk with a connection for a laptop computer. Also adjoining the lounge is a very well equipped open kitchen with the equipment as listed above. The bathroom is tiled throughout and has a marble topped modern white washbasin. There is a washer/dryer in a separate small room. All of the apartments have balconies and either a view of the road, or of the pool and garden area.

More than half of the total apartments at Nuran Al Alka consist of One Bedroom Executive Apartments and they are located throughout the two blocks. They are approximately double the size of the studios, with the additional space being in the lounge and the bedroom, which has an armchair and a second television. The design of the apartments varies according to their location, but generally open into a small square hallway, with the kitchen almost immediately to the left or right. Some of the kitchens have a serving counter, whilst others have a breakfast bar and stools. There is a good sized lounge, which has two 2 seater sofas, together with a coffee table, LCD TV, DVD and CD player. There is also a dining table with four chairs. The broadband internet connection and power socket for a laptop are both close to the table. The small utility room containing the washer/dryer and ironing equipment is located in the hallway. The bathroom is unusual, in that it is accessible both from the hallway and also the bedroom. All equipment, furnishings and décor are as for the Studio Executive Apartment. All of the apartments have balconies, with nearly half of them having a pool view.

There are 24 Two Bedroom Executive Apartments at Nuran Al Alka and they are located throughout the two blocks. They are largely the same as the one bedroom executive apartments, with the additional space coming from the second bedroom and second bathroom. Whilst the master bedroom has a king size bed and en suite facilities, the second bedroom has a queen size bed, with the bathroom next door. The design of the apartments vary according to their location, but all of them have the same well equipped kitchen, good sized lounge and utility room as the smaller apartments. Once again, all other equipment, furnishings and décor are as for the One Bedroom Executive Apartment and all of the two bedroom apartments have balconies, with either a pool view or road view.

Nuran Al Alka has a total of 42 Two Bedroom Premier Apartments located throughout the two blocks. They are largely the same as the two bedroom executive apartments, but with the addition of an alcove area for use as a study, since it contains a writing desk, chair and lamp and is equipped with a broadband connection and power socket for a laptop. Otherwise, although the design of the apartments vary according to their location, they contain everything that is to be found in the two bedroom executive apartments, with furniture and equipment appropriate to the number of guests they will take. All of the two bedroom premier apartments have balconies, with either a pool view or road view.

Cranley Comment

The Costa Coffee shop is located in one of the two blocks that comprise Nuran Al Alka and is situated on the ground floor of the building, just two minutes walk from the other block. It overlooks the street at the front of the residences and has a small terrace area outside. It has seating for about fifty people inside and is a standard Costa Coffee Shop, serving the usual range of coffees as well as tea and cold drinks. Snack food is available throughout the day in the form of pastries, cakes, a range of sandwiches including ciabatta, foccacia and panini which can be toasted, as well as salads and fruit salad. The coffee shop offers a takeaway service and delivery to apartments is available at a supplementary charge.

Nuran Al Alka is very much a residential accommodation block. All guests have complimentary broadband access in their apartment and a small community hall is available for private events.

Playground	There is a sizeable children's playground situated in the grounds of the Nuran Al Alka, between the two apartment blocks. It adjoins both the gym and the terrace that leads to the pool. It consists of colourful climbing equipment and slides, with soft landing areas. There is some shade provided by canvas sails that are suspended above the equipment. The area is unsupervised.
