The Emirates Concorde Hotel & Residence is located in the centre of Deira, just seven kilometres from the airport which depending on traffic is about fifteen minutes drive away. Deira being the original hub of the city has many restaurants, shopping amenities, gold and spice souks and a large fish market. The hotel is also located within a short walk away from the bustling Creek with its many traditional working dhows, restaurant dhows and abras (water taxis) which take passengers to Bur Dubai. The hotel itself has a range of guest rooms, suites and apartments with an international restaurant and traditional Tent Café. No alcohol is served on the premises. Within the same hotel buildings there are a selection of shops and real estate agents located in the shopping plaza. The hotel has a Fitness Centre with two gyms and a rooftop pool situated on the 9th floor of the hotel, a selection of massages and facials are also available. There is a ballroom and further meeting rooms which can accommodate up to 150 people for theatre style meetings.

Location Description
Emirates Concorde Hotel & Residence is situated between Al Maktoum Road and Bani Yas Road in the Deira district of Dubai, close to the Creek and many of the original gold and spice souks and markets. Being the oldest part of the city there is plenty of heritage in the surrounding area, with bustling streets, particularly in the evenings, when many of the restaurants spill out onto the streets in the cooler winter months. Dubai Creek is a short stroll away where there are a number of traditional dhows offering dinner cruises and smaller commuter abras (water taxi) which cross the Creek to Bur Dubai.

Layout Description
The main hotel building is oval in design and has an adjoining building to one side which accommodates guests staying in the apartments. To the other side there is a connecting office tower. All three buildings are connected by a shopping plaza which has shops on both the ground and mezzanine levels which surrounds the hotels oval lobby. The Business Centre and The Tent Café are both situated on the ground floor while the Creek View Restaurant, Ballroom and events area are on the mezzanine level. The Health Club and Fitness Centre and rooftop pool are situated on the 9th floor of the hotel building.

There are two separate entrances to the Emirates Concorde Hotel & Residence with the main entrance and reception area being accessed from Bani Yas Road and the second entrance situated on Al Maktoum Road which runs parallel to the buildings. The reception area has a curved wood desk to one side which overlooks the modern Lobby Lounge with atrium. The Concierge has a desk positioned in front of the panoramic guest lifts which lead to the hotel guest floors. The Lobby Lounge is oval in shape with leather seating arrangement, marble floors, and stainless steel features which run the full height of the nine floor atrium above. Merging and leading from the lobby in two directions are escalators to the mezzanine level, Creek View restaurant and conference and events area. Guests staying in apartments have separate lifts to access the apartments in the adjoining building.

The Emirates Concorde Hotel & Residence is situated in two connecting buildings. Close to the lobby of the hotel there is a gift shop that sells sim cards, confectionery and toys and an additional hotel outlet on the mezzanine level sells flowers which are expertly hand crafted. In addition to the two hotel shopping outlets there are a range of 42 other retail outlets in the connecting shopping plaza which include a hairdressers, chemist, designer clothes and jewellery shops, and a large quantity of travel and real estate offices. Near to the hotel is Deira City Centre which is one of Dubai's major shopping malls.

Hotel guest rooms and apartments at the Emirates Concorde Hotel and Residences have recently undergone a complete makeover and now include up to date plasma televisions, new carpets, fittings and rose wood coloured furniture with inlayed details. The bathrooms have been slightly modified by incorporating sliding doors at the entrance to create a little more space. The two and three bedroom apartments are situated in the adjoining building and have their own lift access; each apartment has a fully fitted and equipped kitchen, open plan living dining area, master en-suite bedroom and guest bedroom with family bathroom. Guest rooms and apartments with Creek views overlook the traditional working dhows.

This International buffet style restaurant has an additional A la carte menu with a number of specialities which include and Oriental mixed grill of Kofta Shish Kebab, Shish Tawook and Lamb Chops, Lobster Thermidor and a Seafood Platter. The Emirates Concorde Hotel & Residence has a dedicated ballroom, conference and meeting room area on the mezzanine level of the hotel which is suitable for banquets, conferences, lectures, business meetings, exhibitions and weddings.

MEZZANINE

Falcon Ballroom:
The Falcon Ballroom is located on the mezzanine level and is easily accessible by lift or escalator, no natural light is available. The Falcon Ballroom has dark wood panelling, a number of mirrors, marble floors which are interspersed with fixed dance floor areas, Falcon can be separated into two smaller event spaces – Falcon 1 and 2.

Hossan and Deira Meeting Rooms;
are located on the mezzanine level of the hotel and are easily accessible by lift or escalator, natural light is available in the Hossan meeting rooms. Each room is decorated with gold/cream walls which are highlighted by mahogany trims, which coordinates well with the light coloured furniture. This conference section of the mezzanine level has a breakout area with leather settees and low level chairs.

The Emirates Concorde Hotel and Residence has a dedicated area for meetings and events on the mezzanine level of the hotel which is suitable for banquets, conferences, lectures, business meetings, exhibitions and weddings. The hotel and apartments provide so special facilities for children. The smaller circular pool on the 9th floor of the hotel has a depth of 60 centimetres. The Creek View Restaurant serves both a buffet an A la carte, children’s menus and high chairs are available. Cots and roll out beds are available and hotel and apartment staff provide a babysitting service, which should be booked in advance.

Description Jumeirah Beach Park is a public beach open from 8:00 to 23:00. Visitors must pay a small charge to enter the beach area and sun loungers and parasols are available for hire. Visitors to the Jumeirah Beach Park should note that one day per week is designated as 'Ladies Only' day and they should check before visiting which day it is.

The Jumeirah Beach Park is a public beach with a small charge for entry. The beach park has a large beach with lifeguards, sun lounger and parasol hire, toilet facilities and a snack bar for cold drinks and fast food refreshments. There is a grassed area and an area planted with trees, where barbeques are available for public use. There are football goals and beach volleyball facilities on the beach in addition to an adventure type playground to keep younger children entertained.

There is a rooftop pool situated on the 9th floor of the hotel building within the Health Club and Fitness Centre facility. The rectangular pool is surrounded by decking with plastic sun loungers with blue mattresses. The surrounding area is not overlooked with the walls, which do not allow for any breeze, and floor decking being painted in fashionable gun metal grey. There are pool showers to one side and a covered granite seating area which overlooks the lobby below and allows for some shade other than the shade provided by the building depending on the time of day.

The Health Club and Fitness Centre for the Emirates Concorde Hotel & Residence is situated on the 9th floor of the hotel building and is open between 07:00 to 22:00 daily. There is a central reception desk where towels are available and booking for treatments can be made. The separate changing facilities have lockers, a sauna and a steam room. The two gyms are unisex, one gym has a range of cardio equipment while the other is an Aerobics Gym, each has light wood floors, mirrors and natural day light through frosted glass, staff are on hand to give assistance with equipment but do not offer a personal training program. The gentlemen’s treatment room is to one side of the reception with the ladies treatment room and private body jet shower is located on the floor below. The rooftop pool which closes at 19:00 each day is also accessed from the 9th floor.

Description
Visitors interested in a different golfing experience may like to arrange a game on sand at the Dubai Country Club, the oldest course in the Emirates, which features “browns”, instead of “greens”. Golfers carry a small piece of artificial turf with them, and use it to play off when on the fairways. A very unique experience! The course features an 18 hole course as well as a 9 hole par three course

  Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club
Description
Opened in 1993 and extensively re-modelled in 2005, the course is set next to Dubai Creek, close to the city centre and Dubai International Airport. The championship course was re-designed by Thomas Bjorn and is set in undulating fairways lined with palms, attractive water hazards and shrubbery that give it a tropical and secluded feel despite being close to the city centre. The complex also features a nine hole floodlit par-three course. All public areas within the hotel have level access from the lobby area or lift access to the mezzanine floors and guest floors. The health club is situated on the 9th floor of the hotel and while the gym and treatment room is on one level the rooftop pool has eleven steps leading to it.
Rooms & Bathrooms
There are no specially adapted guest rooms at The Emirates Palace Hotel & Residence. Given the size of the rooms in the hotel they have been furnished well without the use of bulky furniture allowing for a reasonable amount of floor space, However the bathrooms are very small and have a sliding door at entry which has a clearance of only 52cms, although the bathrooms have been well laid out there is very little space within them. The apartment bathrooms are a little larger however no extra equipment is present.
Restaurants & Catering
The Creek View Restaurant situated on the mezzanine level and The Tent Café at lobby level both have a range of free standing tables and chairs. An extensive buffet is served daily in the restaurant with an A la carte menu. Guest should advise the manager of any food allergies or special dietary requirements which will be accommodated where ever possible.
Visual & Hearing Aids
There are no special facilities available to the visually impaired or hard of hearing. Guest should notify the hotel at time of booking if Assistance Dogs need to be accommodated as they are welcome for guests with special needs in this area. Lift button and guest room numbers are not raised although both the corridors and lifts have plenty of light.
Cranley Comment
There are no special facilities in place at the hotel or apartments for guests who are physically challenged. The entrance to the hotel is on the pavement with a step from the street, and an additional step to the entrance, there are two small permanent ramps in place for the second step. All public areas within the buildings are accessible with the exception of the rooftop pool which is up eleven steps. Guests wishing to bring Assistance Dogs, which are welcome, should notify the hotel at time of booking.

The Emirates Concorde Hotel & Residence has a few environmental policies in place which include energy saving and recycling. Each guest room is fitted with energy saving key card light switches and in the evening when there is very little guest movement within the hotel lights in public areas are lowered. The hotel separates waste, paper, glass and plastic for the Municipality to remove.
