The Coral Oriental is a modern boutique style hotel located in the heart of Deira, within walking distance of the city’s financial, cultural and shopping districts. The hotel has an eclectic mix of antique and modern features. The public areas are decorated in modern style, with marble tiled floors, dark wood panelling, yellow walls and full length red and gold drapes covering the windows in the restaurant and coffee shop. The Al Nafoora restaurant offers International cuisine and buffets, whilst the coffee shop serves teas, coffees, cold drinks and a selection of snacks, sandwiches and pastries. The hotel has 95 rooms and suites, the majority of which are standard rooms, but all are of a good size. There is one function room on the ground floor in the hotel and a Business Centre with one computer terminal in the lobby area. There is also a small gym and there is parking for 20 cars on site. The hotel operates a no alcohol policy.

The Coral Oriental is located in the city centre of Deira, within walking distance of the city’s financial, cultural and shopping districts on Al Rashid Road, which is a colourful mix of souks, skyscrapers and malls. Deira is the oldest district of Dubai, built around the creek with its bustling Arabic culture and promenade. Ideally situated for an inner city option, the Al Futtaim Mosque is just across the road and the fashionable Oud Metha, Satwa and Karma districts are within walking distance. Dubai airport is just 10 kilometres away, whilst the Mall of the Emirates and Ski Dubai are approximately 24 kilometres.

Layout Description
Guests enter the hotel through sliding glass doors into a split level lobby area. Al Nafoora restaurant and Rumours Café are on the immediate right and left respectively, with the travel desk and Business Centre directly ahead. On the left past the travel desk are the hotel shop and salon, whilst the Front Desk is further along on the right. Immediately after the Front Desk are the two guest lifts, which adjoin the Al Dente meeting room. Guest rooms are on floors 1 to 4, with the hotel's small gym situated on the 3rd floor.

The entrance to the hotel is up two steps from the street, through glass sliding doors into a marble tiled lobby, where the décor is mainly dark wood and yellow painted walls. Straight ahead are the travel desk and the Business Centre, whilst the two restaurants are on either side of the lobby. Past the travel desk there are steps and a ramp leading to the upper lobby level, with the shop and salon on the left and the Front Desk on the right hand side. The guest lifts are just past the Front Desk and the Al Dente meeting room is a little further on. At both levels in the lobby there is a small amount of seating for guests.

The hotel's gift shop provides guests with the necessary amenities, whilst the salon offers ladies' and men’s hairdressing and other beauty services. Both are located in the upper lobby area, between the hotel entrance and the Front Desk. The Deira shopping malls and souks are within walking distance of the hotel and there is a courtesy shuttle bus to the Dubai shopping malls. This service operates twice daily and guests are advised to check with the Concierge for departure and pick up times.

The Coral Oriental offers guests a choice between Standard rooms, Junior Suites and Executive Suites, which can interconnect with an adjoining Standard twin room to make suitable family accommodation. Some Standard rooms are also interconnecting. All rooms and suites are furnished in modern style light wooden furniture with gold trim, with all suites being decorated with silk fabrics. Guests should note that some of the standard rooms look onto neighbouring open apartment block rooftops, with unobstructed sight of local living quarters and conditions.

The rooms are furnished with light coloured wooden furniture, including a desk/mirrored vanity unit and coffee table with chairs. The soft furnishings are in blue and gold with patterned bedspreads and striped curtains. The bathrooms have blue floor tiles and grey and blue wall tiles with a marble topped washbasin, a bathtub with overhead shower and there is a fixed hairdryer. Executive Suites are decorated with pink mottle effect walls and green carpets with deep red and green silk fabrics. They are furnished in modern style with light coloured wooden furniture, including a desk/mirrored vanity unit, coffee table with chairs and ornate gold lamps. The bed headboard forms a dividing partition between the bedroom and the lounge area, which is furnished with a sofa and plasma screen TV. The suites have 2 bathrooms, both decorated with blue floor tiles and blue and grey wall tiles. The bathrooms each have a marble topped washbasin, bathtub with overhead shower and a fixed hairdryer. Al Nafoora restaurant is located off the main lobby at the front of the hotel overlooking the street. Guests enter the restaurant through a wooden archway which has tropical climbing plants. The restaurant is furnished with dark wood tables and is decorated in cream and gold with wood panelling and polished dark wood floors. There are floor to ceiling windows draped with red and gold velvet curtains. Guests have the option of a buffet or a choice from the a la carte menu for breakfast, lunch & dinner, with a selection of local and international dishes for all meals. A flat screen TV is located on one wall.

Rumours Café, which is open 24 hours, is situated in the lobby area just inside the front entrance, opposite Al Nafoora. It is separated from the lobby by a wooden partition and guests enter the café through one of two arches. It is furnished in a traditional style with small intimate tables and wicker screens and has floor to ceiling windows with red and gold velvet drapes. Guests can order a selection of specialty coffees from the Rumours Cafe menu or have the option of selecting from the room service menu. Like Al Nafoora, it has a flat screen TV on one wall.

The Al Dente function room has a capacity for 60 guests It can be used for family occasions, parties, business meetings and conferences. The room has no AV equipment but can be set up with various seating combinations to suit any occasion. Catering is provided by arrangement with the hotel, depending on the function.

The Business Centre is situated next to the Tours desk in the entrance lobby. It is open 24 hours and is equipped with one computer workstation with a dial up internet facility. The Al Dente function room which is past the Front Desk in the upper part of the lobby near the lifts, is almost in two parts, with one section being 8 metres x 8 metres and the other 10 metres x 5 metres. It has a capacity for 60 guests and has floor to ceiling windows with red and gold velvet drapes.

Most of the hotel's guests are adult tourists, but it welcomes children and the larger than average rooms are equipped for families. High chairs are available in the restaurants and although there are no special children's menus, the hotel is able to provide kids meals, such as burgers, chips etc on request.

Description Al Mamzar Park looks out over a blue lagoon to the Emirate of Sharjah on one side and the Gulf on the other side. It is open daily from 08:00 to 23:00 and there is a nominal entrance fee.

The park offers sheltered public beaches, swimming pools, pleasant green spaces, and designated picnic and barbeque areas. An ideal place to spend an afternoon, the park also features a spacious amphitheatre and children's playground area.

Description Jumeirah Beach Park is a public beach open from 8:00 to 23:00. Visitors must pay a small charge to enter the beach area and sun loungers and parasols are available for hire. Visitors to the Jumeirah Beach Park should note that one day per week is designated as 'Ladies Only' day and they should check before visiting which day it is.

The Jumeirah Beach Park is a public beach with a small charge for entry. The beach park has a large beach with lifeguards, sun lounger and parasol hire, toilet facilities and a snack bar for cold drinks and fast food refreshments. There is a grassed area and an area planted with trees, where barbeques are available for public use. There are football goals and beach volleyball facilities on the beach in addition to an adventure type playground to keep younger children entertained.

The gym is located on 3rd floor and is a small 'T' shaped room with a light coloured wooden floor and salmon pink walls. Two mirrored walls give the effect of a little more space. There is a limited range of equipment, but it does offer the keen fitness enthusiast some options, with a treadmill, two bikes and a multigym. Although the gym is open from 07:00 until 22:00, it is restricted to ladies only during the morning. There is a new area on the ground floor, with a Jacuzzi and massage room that is being developed for spa treatment.

  Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club
Description
Opened in 1993 and extensively re-modelled in 2005, the course is set next to Dubai Creek, close to the city centre and Dubai International Airport. The championship course was re-designed by Thomas Bjorn and is set in undulating fairways lined with palms, attractive water hazards and shrubbery that give it a tropical and secluded feel despite being close to the city centre. The complex also features a nine hole floodlit par-three course. The course was voted in November 2005 as one of the top 100 world courses to play and hosted the Dubai Desert Classic in 1999 and 2000.

  Emirates Golf Club
Description
This was the first grass course in the Gulf region when it opened in 1988. The club features two championship courses; the Majlis and the Wadi. The Majlis was the original course and was designed by Florida based designer Karl Litten. The Wadi opened in 1996 and was re-designed in 2007 by Nick Faldo. Despite a number of new courses, it still ranks as one of the best in Dubai. It has hosted the Dubai Desert Classic fifteen times for the last six years in succession.

Description
Opened in February 2005 the Four Seasons Golf Club Dubai continues to receive rave reviews about its design, condition and playability. This is a Robert Trent Jones II designed course, neighbouring the banks of the Dubai Creek and is only 2 minutes from Dubai Airport. The Four Seasons Golf Club provides a challenging round for seasoned golfers and assures recreational players a memorable experience. It features extensive use of water with 11 lakes and several smaller ponds with stunning views across the impressive Dubai Skyline.

There are two steps up into the hotel and the lobby area is on two levels, though the hotel does keep a wheelchair by the entrance for guest use and there is a ramp between the two lobby levels. Mobility impaired guests can access all parts of the hotel via the lifts. There are no disabled toilet facilities.

There is wheelchair access to the Al Nafoora restaurant and Rumours Café, both of which are at lobby level. There is no provision for visually impaired guests with large print menus.

The hotel has a wheelchair available for mobility impaired guests and assistance is given with access via a side door. Although the lobby is at two levels, with two steps between them, there is also a ramp built in. All of the hotel facilities are at lobby level or are accessible via the lifts. The hotel's staff are trained in environmental issues and encouraged to take initiatives to improve the environmental measures already in place. The Coral Group carry out audits to monitor the existing policies and staff participate in Dubai Wildlife and beach cleaning incentives. The hotel minimises energy use with guest bedroom lights and air conditioning being operated by the key card.
