Arabian Ranches Golf Club is located just off the Emirates Road approximately 30 minutes from Dubai town centre and 20 minutes from the beach. Set in 247 acres the Spanish colonial style clubhouse has 11 exclusive en-suite guest rooms located on the first floor with their own dedicated reception and lounge area, it is almost possible to step out of your room straight onto the course. The Ranches restaurant, bar and large terrace with an International menu overlooks the 9th and 19th holes of the desert style par 72 golf course designed by Ian Baker. Fully qualified 'Golf Professionals' are on site at the golf academy next to the floodlit driving range. There is a pro shop located in the main golf club lobby area. Guests staying at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club have complimentary use of the swimming pool and gym at the nearby Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club where a spa and Equestrian Centre are also located. Within the golf club facility there are two conference rooms, the Baker Finch room and the Arabian Ranches Golf Club Conference Room making this an ideal venue for meetings, conferences corporate golf days, private banquets, weddings and getaways.

The club itself is situated within 247 acres, of which 120 acres are irrigated (66 acres grassed area and 55 acres of desert vegetation). Locally, within two minutes drive there is a small shopping complex with a supermarket and coffee shops. The Arabian Ranches Polo Club is within 5 minutes drive. Dubai Town Centre is approximately 35 minutes by car and the beach is approximately 25 minutes away. The large shopping centre, The Mall of the Emirates which is also home to Ski Dubai is approximately 25 minutes drive from the club.

Layout Description

The Spanish colonial style Arabian Ranches Golf Club has a sweeping drive, and to the left of the entrance there is a golf bag and luggage drop off point and open air car park. The entrance takes you directly into the golf club's double storey reception and lobby lounge area. Directly opposite the club's reception desk on the right, there is a lift that takes guests who are staying within the premises to the first floor. A dedicated guest reception area that overlooks the main lobby, lounge and entrance to Ranches, the clubs A la carte restaurant and bar which has a terrace with views over the desert style 18 hole golf course with indigenous shrubs and bushes. The 11 exclusive guest bedrooms are found along one corridor that leads from the first floor reception.

The Arabian Ranches Golf Club lobby and reception area are located on the ground floor level of the premises. Guests who are staying in the 11 Standard Rooms have a separate dedicated reception desk for check-in and a lounge area that is located on the first floor level which overlooks the crisp Spanish style colonial golf club lobby. The golf club Reception on the ground floor is manned on a 24 hour basis so guests may also direct any enquiries for business support or faxing and copying here. Guests should note that because there are only 11 rooms within the golf club facility, there are no Porters immediately on hand for luggage. When you arrive, there is a drop off point for luggage and clubs etc next to the entrance before the car park, and staff will assist guests with luggage from here to the guest rooms when alerted of arrival.

The Pro Shop is located to the left of the club lobby area at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club. It is open from 06:00 to 20:00 7 days a week and sells a large range of golf equipment and sun cream. Ranches Restaurant stocks cigarettes, and local newspapers are complimentary. Within approximately 2 minutes drive there is a small shopping mall with a supermarket and a selection of coffee shops and fast food outlets. The Mall of the Emirates is approximately 25 minutes drive away.

The 11 en-suite guest rooms are located on the first floor of the Arabian Ranch Golf Club, they have their own exclusive separate reception and lounge area that overlooks the golf club lobby. The Standard guest rooms have either views over the greens or a fast completing community development of private villas. The rooms feature Spanish style terracotta floors and high ceilings with either king-sized or twin beds and classical decorative features. The en-suite bathrooms are of a good size. Complimentary high speed internet connections are available in each room. Guests are able to use all facilities at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club and additionally are given a pass to the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club which is within 5 minutes drive.

Ranches restaurant, bar and terrace is found at the far end of the golf club lobby area and overlooks the 9th hole and floodlit driving range. The large A la carte restaurant has a long buffet station to the right which is used mainly for regular themed evenings and the Friday 'Brunch Buffet'. The long bar is located past the buffet area and serves beer on tap, wines, champagnes and cocktails. The restaurant area is a mix of round and square tables with comfortable leather and larger velvet bucket seats. The room has floor to ceiling windows and has a comfortable relaxed club house feel without becoming ‘tacky’ or too ‘stuffy’. As it is a sporting venue there are a few plasma screens for major sporting events, Gentlemen are requested to wear a shirt with a collar and children are not allowed in the restaurant after 19:30 but are allowed on the large terrace where food and beverages are also served at wrought iron tables and chairs.

Academy is a club house and indoor practise swing room lesson facility located next to the floodlit driving range. The Academy has a casual atmosphere and has seating both inside and out on a terrace, serves hot and cold drinks and sandwiches, and children are welcome. The spacious airy room has a bar at one end and seating arrangements with tables and chairs and plasma screens.

Ranches bar, restaurant, and terrace is found at the far end of the golf club lobby area and overlooks the 9th and 18th hole and the floodlit driving range. The long bar with several bar stools is located past the buffet area at the back of the restaurant and serves beer on tap, wines, champagnes and cocktails. As it is a sporting venue there are a few plasma screens around the room and behind the bar for major sporting events. Gentlemen are requested to wear a shirt with a collar and children are not allowed in the bar or restaurant after 19:30 but are allowed on the large terrace where beverages and food are also served at wrought iron tables and chairs. There is also an additional casual bar located at the golf Academy where beverages and light snacks are served.

Arabian Ranches Conference Room is situated on the first floor level next to the guest reception desk and quiet lounge area, it has natural light and dark wood features with cream walls. The lounge area is close to the room although a public place could be utilised as a breakout/reception area. Baker-Finch Room, Birkdale Bar and Terrace all interconnect with the Birkdale Bar being at the furthest point as you enter the suite. The Baker-Finch rooms are ‘L’ shaped with highly polished floors and wood panelling giving it a sedate colonial feel. The floor to ceiling windows overlook the first floor terrace with views over the greens. The adjoining Birkdale Bar has marble floors, a high vaulted ceiling, long bar and comfortable informal bar stools and seating arrangements. With a fleet of 90 golf buggies and an 18 hole desert golf course the Arabian Ranches Golf Club is an ideal venue for team building and corporate away days, it is also suitable for weddings.

The Jumeirah Beach Park is a public beach with a small charge for entry. The beach park has a large beach with lifeguards, sun lounger and parasol hire, toilet facilities and a snack bar for cold drinks and fast food refreshments. There is a grassed area and an area planted with trees, where barbeques are available for public use. There are football goals and beach volleyball facilities on the beach in addition to an adventure type playground to keep younger children entertained.

Additional guests will be charged a daily rate. There is no hotel transport available between the two facilities but it is only a short 5 minute journey in a private car or taxi. The large pool area at the Polo & Equestrian Club has both ladders and stairs descending into it. There is a large pool surround with wooden sun loungers and parasols and a waiter pool service providing cold towels to refresh guests each hour.

The Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club children’s pool is available to guests staying at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club. The large children’s pool has a canopy over it with shaded seating around the pool. Next to the children’s pool is a sanded children’s play area. There are large stepping stones that form a linked bridge between the children’s pool and the main pool.

The medium sized gym is well equipped and has a high vaulted ceiling and polished wood floors with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Polo & Equestrian Club pool. Description

Arabian Ranches golf course is a new Ian Baker-Finch/Nicklaus Design world-class desert course and is the region's first desert-style facility capable of hosting international tournaments. It opened in 2004 at the Arabian Ranches housing development and is complete with a floodlit driving range and practice areas. It is the first true desert course in the city. With no water hazards to face, players tackle the elements and one enormous twisting bunker - the desert itself - on a sprawling course cultivated from the desert topography. There is no hotel transport available between the two facilities but it is only a short 5 minute journey in a private car or taxi. The spa has 5 treatment rooms, sauna, steam room and a plunge pool with locker changing and shower facilities. Most of the treatments are herbal based and include rejuvenate and renewal packages and a choice of body massages.

The Arabian Ranches Golf Club has a good gentle slope into the main entrance of the golf club and a discreet slope to the side of the golf club lobby to allow access to both levels. The locker and changing room facilities on the lower level of the lobby have a disabled cloakroom with 5 grab rails. Guest rooms and conference rooms are reached by lifts. The outside areas of the golf club have slopes allowing access to the terrace and golf course beyond.

None of the 11 guest rooms at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club are specially adapted for travellers with special needs. There is adequate space for wheelchair users within both the bedrooms and the bathrooms.

Generally, access to all areas at the Arabian Ranches Golf Club is good although no special provisions have been made in the guest rooms for either guests with limited mobility or guests who may be hard of hearing. Guests wishing to bring 'Assistance Dogs' should notify the golf club at the time of booking the golf club guest rooms, dogs are welcome in some areas of the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club.

The Arabian Ranches has an 'Environment Committee' in place who meet on a monthly basis to try to improve the policies within the club. Presently the club is recycling paper, bottle plastics and cooking oils. They have dispensed with plastic laundry bags and switched to more eco friendly recycled laundry bags in the guest rooms.
