The Petra Marriot with its impressive views is 1,400 meters above sea level situated on the mountains edge and is a haven of peace and tranquillity. The hotel is built with three adjoining wings on separate levels and offers spacious, tastefully decorated, comfortable rooms most of which have good views over the Great Rift Valley. All rooms have wireless internet access and Satellite television. The hotel has two restaurants, L’Affresco Italian Restaurant and Sushara serving International and Middle Eastern specialties. Aretas Bar & Lobby Lounge is the ideal place to enjoy Happy Hour and watch the spectacular sunsets. The hotel has a large outdoor heated swimming pool and after a hard day of walking in the historical Petra sight, Loofah Turkish Bath Spa is an ideal retreat to relax and be pampered with a soothing massage. The Hotel has a Business Centre and a large meeting room available for Conferences, Weddings and social events.

Location Description
The hotel is a short drive from the entrance to the historical religious Petra site, the Rose-Red city, built by the Nabateans over 2000 years ago. The Petra Marriott is situated on a steep sloping site overlooking the Petra Valley. The nearest amenities are in downtown Petra a ten minute drive from the Hotel where shops, supermarkets, banks and a hospital can be found. A fifteen minute drive from the hotel is the 8,000 year old excavated villages of Beidha and Bast. Dana Wildlife Reserve, which extends from the top of the rift valley to the desert lowlands of Wadi Araba, is a forty five minute drive away. The hotel is approximately 200 kilometers from Queen Alia International Airport.

Layout Description
Driving out of Petra and climbing up the mountain reaching a height of 1,400 meters, the hotel is majestically situated on a steep sloping site overlooking Petra Valley. To the rear of the hotel there is a small garden and a large heated rectangular swimming pool with views of the Mountain. The hotel has eight floors with guest rooms situated on all floors except the fourth floor Reception area, Business Centre, Restaurant, Bar and Gift Shop, second floor main Restaurant and sixth floor, Atagartis Meeting Room. The first floor has a Movie Theatre and the third floor has a Turkish Bath Spa.

The entrance lobby is laid out with marble floors and large glass windows giving a feeling of space and a bright cool environment. It features a standard check-in desk, the Business Centre and leads through to Aretas Lobby Lounge and bar, the Hotel’s Gift Shop and L’Affresco Italian Restaurant and Terrace. The Lobby Lounge is comfortably fitted out with sofas and easy chairs and ceiling to floor windows with an entrance onto the Lounge Terrace giving a wonderful view over the valley. There are two elevators serving eight floors.

The hotel has a small Gift Shop (called The Gift Shop) selling souvenirs and sundry items. They are open daily from 07:00 to 22:00.

The Gift Shop is situated in the corridor immediately outside the Lobby Lounge and sells Jordanian made gifts such as sand bottles, silk items, pictures, knick knacks, post-cards and sundry items. There are no shops within walking distance of the hotel and the nearest is a ten minute taxi drive to downtown Petra where shops, supermarket, banks can all be found.

The Petra Marriott Hotel is spread over eight floors in three extensions offering Superior Rooms, Executive Room and an Executive Suite. None of the rooms have balconies but sixty five rooms have a stunning mountain view and thirty five have a street view. All rooms are tastefully decorated in soft pastel shades with matching soft furnishings. Each extension has an inner atrium with the corridors to guest rooms looking down to a lounge area. Bedrooms have either king beds or double twin beds, satellite television, mini-bar, safe box and in most cases, a stunning view over the Great Rift Valley.

The rooms are approached along carpeted corridors some with stone arches surrounding the central atrium and looking down to a lounge area. There is a small passageway on entering the room with a bathroom off one side and fitted wardrobes and mini bar on the other. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and decorated in pastel shades with coordinating soft furnishings in rich fabrics. There are thirty seven rooms with king sized beds, sixty with twin beds and one with a queen bed. Each room is furnished with two easy chairs, table, television and desk. All the en-suite bathrooms have shower over bath.

The room has a King-size bed, easy chairs and table, a desk and TV. The bathroom has a walk in shower, a bath and double sink unit. The Executive Room is connected with two other rooms, a lounge and bedroom if further space is required. The principle benefit of the Executive Room is the additional space and better views given its location on the eighth floor.

Dushara Restaurant located on the second floor and has panoramic views over the Great Rift Valley and overlooks the hotel’s heated outdoor swimming pool. The restaurant is decorated Middle Eastern Style with mural and mosaic walls, deep coloured soft furnishings matching the brightly painted pillars and surrounding framework of the murals. Guests can start their day in this bright, airy friendly restaurant with a buffet breakfast offering a variety of dishes to suit all tastes. Lunch and Dinner are a mixture of Middle Eastern specialties and contemporary dishes from around the world. A-la-carte menu is available. The restaurant also serves light food and snacks at the poolside during the summer months. There is an entrance from the restaurant leading out to the pool area.

L’Affresco Italian Restaurant on the 4th floor (Lobby level) is located off the Aretas Lobby Lounge and Bar. The Restaurant has a terrace and is surrounded by ceiling to floor windows overlooking the spectacular terrain of the Petra Mountains. The terrace is only used during summer months. The restaurant is decorated Italian style with brightly coloured soft furnishings, tiled floor and mural painted walls. Serving authentic Italian specialities including stone baked pizza from the restaurants own pizza oven. The menu is a-la-carte and the restaurant will serve food in the Lobby Lounge.

Aretas Lobby Lounge and Bar is located on the 4th Floor off the main reception area and adjoins L’Affresca Italian Restaurant. The lounge area is comfortably furnished with sofas and chairs upholstered in colourful fabrics. Some of the seating area, situated alongside the large ceiling to floor windows overlook the Great Rift Valley. Doors lead onto a large terrace with tables and chairs to sit and enjoy a Happy Hour drink watching a spectacular sunset. The Bar area is furnished with leather chairs and tables all situated along the window, The Bar has a Pool Table, TV and serves drinks and light snacks in the Bar, Lobby Lounge area and on the Terrace during summer months.
