A feature of the hotel is the soaring glass-roofed atrium, providing a sense of space and light unique amongst London hotels. There are two hundred and ninety nine rooms and suites spread over six floors which reflect classic Victorian elegance, are well furnished and have modern up-to-date amenities. Dining options include the AA 2 Rosette Winter Garden Restaurant and the relaxing informal Cellars Bar. Facilities include a brand new health club and spa with a fifteen metre semi-ozone swimming pool and a fully equipped fitness room. The hotel has a number of conference rooms and an elegant ballroom suitable for all types of events like weddings, conferences, meetings and private functions. Marylebone underground station is directly opposite the hotel and offers easy access to any part of London.

Location Description

The Landmark Hotel is located in Marylebone at the border of Lonon's congestion charging zone. Directly opposite the north entrance of the hotel and connected by a covered walkway is Marylebone underground station which offers fast easy access into London. A short taxi ride, or a few stops on the underground, guests have access to world class shopping, famous landmarks, theatres, restaurants and all the very best London has to offer. Several of London's famous attractions such as Madame Tussauds, the Planetarium, Sherlock Holmes Museum and Regents Park are within a few minutes walk from the hotel. Wembley Stadium is nine minutes away by underground. Heathrow Airport is situated fifteen miles away on the west of London and the fastest connection to the airport is via the Heathrow Express with a journey time of fifteen minutes from it’s terminus at Paddington Station which is merely five minutes from the Landmark Hotel by underground or taxi.

Layout Description

The Landmark Hotel is an impressive Victorian red brick building which was built at the turn of the twentieth century and was originally one of the great Victorian railway hotels. The hotel is a unique combination of Victorian grandeur and modern comfort. It is resplendent with Gothic-style architecture, stained glass windows and wall murals and with many original working fireplaces. The heart of the hotel has an eight storey atrium around which the hotel is wrapped. The basement area houses the Cellars Bar and Restaurant, the Spa and Health Club and basement car parking. The main reception is located on the lower ground floor. The Winter Garden Restaurant, the hotel's private function rooms and ballroom are mostly located on the ground floor level. The mezzanine level houses the Gazebo, the Landmark Boutique and Kara Hair and Beauty Salon. Guestrooms and suites are spread over the six floors with views over the Atrium and the outside.

Medical Facilities	The hotel has a nurse in the building during office hours. If a doctor or dentist is required, according to the hotel, the Concierge will be more than happy to call a doctor or dentist who will then make contact with the guest and take appropriate action.
Parking	All vehicles are valet parked in the manned car park in the basement of the hotel. For guests staying in the hotel there is an overnight charge of forty pounds. For visiting guests the first two hours parking is ten pounds. Thereafter the charges are six pounds per hour and caps at a forty pounds maximum daily charge.

The Marylebone Road entrance into the hotel is the main entrance and leads into the lower lobby area flanked with stone arches and marbled floors. The reception desk is located to the left and concierge desk to the right with elevators to all floors located just past the concierge desk. A marble stairway leads up to the ground floor and into the eight storey central atrium housing the Winter Garden Restaurant and around which the hotel is wrapped. Also located on this level are the majority of the hotel's private function rooms, ballroom, the Mirror Bar and the IT Centre. On the right of the Winter Garden entrance, stairs lead down to the Spa and Health Club which can also be reached by elevator. Immediately in front of the Winter Garden entrance, a sweeping marble stairway leads up to the mezzanine floor to the Gazebo area, the Landmark Boutique and Kara Hair and Beauty Salon. There is a North entrance to the hotel which is opposite Marylebone Station. This leads into the Ground floor and into a further reception area and lounge which is used for checking in conference and larger parties.

Description

The Landmark Boutique is located on the mezzanine level. The boutique provides a large range of services and stocks a variety of luxurious goods, ranging from clothes, perfume, cigars and leather goods to jewellery and watches. Some of the leading brands available are Jean Richard, Piaget, Roberto Naldi, Parmigiani, Georgio Grati, Brigite Ermel, Dore Dore, Jean Paul Gaultier, Girard-Perregaux, Alfred Dunhill, Zilli and d'Avenza. Services offered by the Landmark Boutique include, full made to measure tailoring for ladies and gents, a large range of clothing in stock, last minute clothing requests, a selection of gifts suited to a variety of budgets, tax free shopping and a delivery service to the customers final destination. The Landmark Boutique is open from 09:30 to 20:30 seven days a week.

Apart from the Boutique, a wide range of gifts and services are offered within the hotel through the concierge and include Landmark souvenirs, luggage tags, teddy bears, bathrobes, flowers, framed items, luxury swimwear, E'SPA beauty products, gift vouchers for anything, including: dinner in any restaurant, overnight stays and Spa gifts and treatments.

Also located on the mezzanine level is Kara Hair and Beauty Salon offering hairdressing, manicures, pedicures and facial treatments. The salon is open from 09:00 to 19:00 Monday to Saturday.

The Landmark Hotel has a limited range of retail outlets. However, the hotel's location and being situated opposite Marylebone mainline and underground station, means excellent accessibility to London's top shopping areas, the finest parks and landmarks in London and London's famous theatres.

The Landmark Hotel has a wide range of superior accommodation with two hundred and ninety nine guestrooms and suites. The rooms are uncommonly spacious starting at 35sqm and are decorated with classic overtones featuring soft tactile fabrics in a subtle colour scheme of golden beiges, soft yellows and blues. All the rooms are well appointed and feature the latest in modern technology. For families the executive twin bedded rooms can accommodate two adults and two children. Guestrooms and suites have views of either the atrium looking down over the Winter Garden or to the outside of the building.

There are fifty five superior rooms with king-size or queen-size beds and a further four rooms with twin beds. The bedrooms are approached along carpeted corridors and enter into an entrance hallway leading into the bedroom area. Some of the rooms have fitted wardrobes in the entrance hallway whilst the rest have them in the bathroom. The bedrooms feature high ceilings, are decorated in pastel hughes of gold and beige, soft yellow and blues and have a feeling of spaciousness and warmth. The rooms are furnished with bow fronted lacquered bedside chests and circular bedside tables, a large lacquered armoire which houses the TV, mini bar and laptop size safe. Each room has a desk with an inset black marble top and a large mirror above, a desk chair and a comfortable easy armchair. Some of the rooms look over the atrium area down into the Winter Garden and others have an outside view. The white marble en-suite bathrooms have a single sink, a large combined bath and shower and a door leading into a separate WC. Superior rooms can interconnect to one another or with the Landmark Studio Suites and Deluxe rooms.

Deluxe rooms are larger than Superior rooms and the majority have king-size beds. The rooms are decorated and furnished in exactly the same way as the Superior rooms but have the added benefit of an extra armchair in the bedroom. The marble bathroom has a separate bath and walk-in shower cubicle, a double vanity unit and a door leading into a separate WC. For further space, Deluxe rooms can interconnect with another Deluxe room or a Deluxe suite.

Executive rooms are more spacious than Deluxe rooms but are furnished and decorated in the same manner as the Superior and Deluxe rooms. The rooms have the added benefit of a two seater sofa and coffee table. The Executive twin bedded rooms make ideal family rooms and can sleep two adults and two children under twelve. These rooms can connect to Executive rooms with a king-size bed or superior twin bedded rooms. The Executive king-size bedrooms can connect to themselves and Superior rooms.

These rooms are more spacious than the Executive rooms but are furnished and decorated in the same manner. The suite comprises of a lounge area furnished with a two-seater sofa, two arm chairs, coffee table and armoire with a TV. Walking through an open archway to the bedroom, this is furnished with either a king-size bed or two double beds and also has an armoire with a TV and DVD player. A number of the suites have ornamental fireplaces and the suites can connect to each other or to a Superior room.

These large airy bright suites are decorated and furnished in the same style and manner as the other rooms. The entrance to the room has a marble floor hallway furnished with table and two easy armchairs leading into a separate lounge area. The lounge is carpeted and has a coffee table, a two-seater sofa and two armchairs. There is also a television armoire with a mini bar. From the hallway, frosted glass French doors lead into a spacious area housing a desk with mirror over and a desk chair. To the right is the bedroom with a Queen-size bed, a television armoire and case stool at the end of the bed. The en-suite marble bathroom is located on the left of the French doors and has a bath and separate shower, double wardrobes and a door leading into a separate WC.

The Deluxe suites are decorated in a similar manner to the superior suites with a basic theme of golds and blues, have high ceilings and are bright, airy and elegantly furnished. The large bedroom has a king-size bed, an armoire with a TV and mini-bar and an en-suite bathroom decorated in white marble. The furnished sitting room has a dining table that seats six people, sofa and armchairs, an armoire with TV and mini-bar. Two of the suites feature a kitchenette. The suite is located on the fifth floor of the hotel and is decorated in a similar colour scheme as all the other rooms. There is a marble hallway as you enter with a small guest bathroom off and leading through to a fully fitted kitchen and a private dining room that seats six. This dining room can also be utilised as a private meeting room. The luxurious sitting room is large and elegantly furnished with a three seater sofa, occasional chairs, a baby grand piano, a cabinet with the television and hi-fi system and a fully stocked bar. The room also features a large fireplace. The main bedroom is extremely large and has a four poster bed. It also features an en-suite bathroom that is decorated in white marble and has a very large walk in shower and a jacuzzi bath. This room leads into a large dressing room area. The Presidential Suite has an optional connecting executive room with a king-size bed.

The Winter Garden is situated at the heart of the hotel's eight storey glass atrium on the ground floor. The two AA Rosette restaurant is surrounded by towering palm trees which are floodlit at night and is decorated and furnished with a unique mix of eastern flair and contemporary design. The Winter Garden Restaurant provides fine dining in stunning surrounds and offers breakfast, lunch and a classical menu a la carte dinner. During the afternoons on a daily basis, the hotel's famous traditional afternoon tea is served and can be taken with champagne and strawberries.

The Gazebo is located on the Mezzanine floor overlooking the Winter Garden Restaurant. It is the perfect setting to enjoy a light meal or a selection of coffees and teas. It is a favourite for informal business meetings and interviews. A wireless Internet service is provided exclusively in the Gazebo area; access codes are available from members of Gazebo staff at a cost of ten pounds per hour. There is a cold buffet set up during lunch time plus an a la carte menu available. The Gazebo hosts a Champagne Brunch on a Sunday which includes a buffet with a carvery, unlimited champagne and live music performed by a piano player or jazz band.

The Cellars Bar and Restaurant is located in the basement area of the hotel near the Health Club and Spa. The elevator and stairs from the ground floor lead down to the restaurant as well as a separate entrance from the street. Formally known as the billiards room when the hotel was opened as the Great Central Hotel in 1899, the Cellars retain many of its original features. It is decorated with wood panelling to the walls and has wooden and marble tables and leather clad dining chairs. This welcoming and informal bar is an ideal lunchtime rendezvous or an after work drink. The all day menu from 12:00 to 22.30 offers hearty English pub lunches and evening meals, a wide selection of beers, wines and cocktails are available. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult in the Cellars bar and Restaurant.

The Mirror bar is located on the ground floor and is a beautiful and exclusive Champagne bar finished with a selection of mirrored detail. It is furnished with comfortable easy chairs and tables and is the perfect place for an early evening cocktail or to retire to after dinner. It serves a range of Champagne, cocktails, single malt whiskies and cognac. Free canapes are served with drinks between the hours of 16:00 and 18:00.

Menu tasting is available before the event and the hotel has many attractive features. The Ballroom’s marble complements a variety of decorations and flower arrangements, whilst the Drawing Room makes a nice contrast for a wedding ceremony for up to 120 people. The Landmark Hotel is an experienced conference and banquet venue. There are ten ornate rooms most with natural daylight, original design features and high ceilings. As well as meeting venues, all rooms are ideal for private dining, banquets and weddings. The rooms offer flexibility and a variety of breakout and configuration options, high-speed Internet access and state-of-the-art audio visual equipment. The rooms are equipped to host large conferences, residential events and smaller meetings. The hotel offers a roll away bed for children under twelve staying in guestrooms with their parents at a charge of sixty pounds per night. There is no charge for a baby cot. Children can use the Health Spa swimming pool at set times (which is chargeable) and if under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The Landmark Spa & Health Club's semi-ozone treated pool is located within the health club at basement level. The indoor pool is rectangular in shape and has a relaxation area at the far end of the pool with comfortable loungers and tables. The pool surround has a spa pool, a sanarium (which is less intense than a sauna) and outside the sanarium, two essence infused monsoon showers. For a day membership to use the swimming pool and spa facilities, guests staying at the Landmark are charged ten pounds per day for adults/complimentary if booking a treatment, seven pounds per day for children under 16 and free for children under two years old. It is incorporated within the Landmark Spa and Health Club and offers the latest Star Trac cardiovascular and resistance equipment, Personal training is available with tailor made programmes to suit personal needs. As well as being a challenging and demanding course you will find it hard not to be stirred by the exquisite views and landscapes of the Club's championship course known as Stoke Poges. The club's true 27 hole course is made up of the three nine hole courses Colt, Alison and Jackson. The course was designed by Harry Shapland Colt who is arguably the greatest golf course architect in history. He and his partners have certainly had more influence on the game around the world than any other firm of architects. In l908 he was commissioned to create his first unassisted design at Stoke Poges.

Description

Wentworth has three courses. The West is world famous and is home each year to the HSBC World Matchplay and the BMW PGA Championship. The other "original" course is the East and finally the most recent addition is the Edinburgh which opened in the 1990’s. Many golfers visit Wentworth for the West course and very few courses can boast a tournament history on a par with the West course. It hosted the 1953 Ryder Cup and then in 1956 the Canada Cup, the forerunner to today’s World Cup of Golf. It has the distinction of hosting two of golf’s most prestigious championships; the World Matchplay and the PGA Championship. In addition the East course is in most golfers' lists of the top fifty courses in the British Isles. It was the setting for the inaugural Curtis Cup in 1932 and hosted a friendly match in 1926 between two teams from the US and Great Britain and Ireland which was the inspiration for the contest we now know as the Ryder Cup. Lastly the Edinburgh course was opened in more recent times and was designed by coach and former Ryder Cup player and captain John Jacobs in consultation with nine-time major champion Gary Player and the Club’s then professional Bernard Gallacher.

Guests staying at the Landmark are entitled to a reduced rate of ten pounds for adults and seven pounds for children under sixteen per day. The hotel has a number of environmental initiatives in place which include:
- Green cards in bedrooms offering guests a reduced laundry service should they wish to reduce the amount of water and energy used and attributed to their stay, sheets would be changed every three days instead of daily.
- The recycling of paper and printer cartridges in the hotel offices
- Where feasible the use of energy saving light bulbs in corridors and public areas.
- Passive infra red light sensors are used in the new suites reducing wasted light.
- 'Hippo' devices are fitted in all toilet flushes which reduces wasted water.
- Electricity and water consumption is monitored and charted with the aim of promoting a better attitude towards energy saving by staff.
In addition the hotel has a "Green Hat" award which is awarded to the department who has come up with the best energy saving idea on a monthly basis.
